Does the idea of CBD make you want to climb mountains even though you have terrible knees?

We get it, we do. With so much information on the many different types of CBD products, this just creates more and more confusion about the differences, what each of them contains, and how they can be beneficial.

That’s why we’re all about walking you through different hemp and CBD products. Because they’re natural, sustainable, and can give you energy without making you feel like a walking zombie!

So, what in the world IS CBD in the first place?

What Are The Different Types of CBD?

What is CBD?

CBD, hemp, cannabis… all the same thing, right?

You’d be surprised how wrong you’d be! Because that’s what people thought for a long time. But now that CBD has become so popular and accessible, it’s important to know the difference between the types of CBD out there—and what they do.

CBD is short for cannabidiol. It’s one of over 100 compounds found in cannabis plants, known as cannabinoids. Cannabinoids interact with receptors throughout your body to create changes in your body and brain. When you consume CBD, it interacts with receptors in your endocannabinoid system, or ECS.

There are three main types of CBD, and these three types have different uses and effects, so let’s break them down!

Different Types of CBD

If you really want to know what’s in your product, you’ve got to first understand the different types of CBD and where they come from. Hemp is the male cannabis plant. The oil derived is called CBD hemp oil, which is likely to contain a negligible amount of THC. This won’t get people high in any case and is suggested to be orally ingested (if you want to know the difference between hemp CBD and THC-heavy marijuana, click here). Read on to brush up on the different types of CBD.

So… the three main types of CBD are: Full-spectrum, broad-spectrum, and CBD isolution.

Hemp oil is made from the seeds of the hemp plant, which is a cousin to marijuana. Hemp oil contains high amounts of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, as well as vitamin E. These nutrients are beneficial for your skin and hair.

Hemp products include anything that’s made from hemp fiber, such as clothing, paper products, or rope.

Cannabis is the most common type of CBD product. It comes from the leaves and flower buds of the marijuana plant. Cannabis contains high levels of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which causes psychoactive effects in users such as relaxation or paranoia.

Full-Spectrum CBD

You’ve probably heard that CBD can help relieve pain and inflammation. But, did you know that there are other benefits to taking CBD as well?

Full-spectrum CBD is just that—it includes all the beneficial cannabinoids found in hemp. That means it contains THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the psychoactive component of marijuana that gets you high.

So why would anyone want to use something like this?

Because full spectrum means that all of these compounds work together synergistically—they complement each other’s effects on the body and mind. When used together at their natural levels, they produce an overall effect much greater than each individual cannabinoid could do on its own.  Full-spectrum CBD is the most natural and complete form of cannabidiol or CBD.

There are different types of CBD products on the market, but the basic difference between them is that full-spectrum CBD is made from hemp plants that are grown organically and free from pesticides. Full-spectrum CBD extracts contain all of the cannabinoids found in industrial hemp plants, including cannabidiolic acid (CBDa) and cannabigerol (CBG).

These compounds work together to produce what some call a “full spectrum” effect: when you consume full-spectrum CBD, you receive all of the potential health benefits offered by both THC and CBD.

Broad-Spectrum CBD

Broad-spectrum CBD refers to the variety of compounds that are produced by cannabis plants, including phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids (for the science nerds out there!). The term “broad spectrum” is used because it refers to the diversity of compounds that are present in the plant. It does not refer to their effectiveness or strength as nutrients.

Broad-spectrum CBD products contain both hemp and cannabis for two reasons: firstly because they are derived from plants containing both hemp and cannabis compounds; secondly because these compounds have different effects on our bodies depending on which one we consume first (this is called the entourage effect). These compounds work together to provide health benefits for users!

The main difference between broad-spectrum CBD and full-spectrum CBD really boils down to the amounts of THC in said product. While full-spectrum CBD products contain up to 0.3% of THC, broad-spectrum CBD products contain the same compounds without any THC whatsoever.

CBD Isolution

CBD isolution is a hemp-derived CBD product that can be used as a tincture or in a vape pen. It contains all-natural ingredients and has no psychoactive effects.

CBD isolution comes in three different sizes: 1 oz., 2 oz., and 4 oz.. The 1 oz. size comes in an amber glass bottle with a dropper top, while the 2oz and 4 oz sizes come in a plastic bottle with a childproof cap.

In addition to its tincture form, CBD isolution can also be used as an e-liquid for vaping. It comes in 10ml bottles that feature an easy-to-use applicator tip which allows you to put it directly into your vape pen, without having to drip it on yourself or risk spilling it everywhere by trying to pour it into the cartridge yourself (which most of us have definitely done before).

CBD isolution has been designed specifically for use with cannabis products such as oils, edibles, lotions, etc., but can be used by anyone looking for an alternative way to consume CBD oil.

It’s the sibling of the three types that contains no other cannabinoids or compounds. It is what we’d call all-natural CBD!

What type of CBD works best for you?

The world is full of CBD products, and it can be hard to know where to start.

In this guide, we’ve covered the basics of CBD products—from hemp products and CBD to full-spectrum CBD and broad-spectrum CBD. We also answered some common questions about how to choose the best CBD product for you.

If you’re still not sure what’s right for you, there’s no need to worry! There are many different types of CBD products available on the market today, and we’ve identified four categories that are most popular: hemp products, CBD isolates, full-spectrum CBD isolates, and broad-spectrum isolates.

It’s also worth mentioning that hemp and CBD are not the same things. Hemp is simply a variety of the cannabis sativa plant that contains less than 0.3% THC. So if you’re trying to avoid any psychoactive effects (like feeling “high”), then hemp products are a good bet for you.

Some types of CBD products are better than others, but what’s most important is finding one that works for you!
