The modern marijuana consumer is an intriguing one. This elevated cannabis enthusiast is also college educated, employed full-time, sometimes married, sometimes a parent, and some even spend an average of more than $1,700 a year on herb––that tops alcohol, tobacco, and personal care combined––according to an inclusive survey conducted by weed-delivery startup, Eaze.
Cannabis is always changing. As we gather more information on this amazing plant, it is import to know and understand who the modern day consumer is. Cannabis delivery service Eaze, recently polled more than 10,000 people with a 32-question email survey.
“Despite the recent victories in marijuana legalization, cannabis use still carries a stigma among some modern day Americans. This study tells a new story about the thousands of people who consume cannabis daily,” the Eaze study reads. “In this report we explore three emerging segments of cannabis consumers: women, parents, and working professionals.”

Information and statistics are important in furthering the global conversation surrounding cannabis use. Especially as legalization of marijuana becomes more wide spread and they normalize cannabis-use in general. Of course these numbers do not represent everyone on earth who smokes weed, they do depict a significant portion of voting adults, and demographics that are most certainly and directly affected by the nation’s drug laws. This is a good collection of data that we can use to better understand the modern day cannabis user.
